Plans & billing

Every Rahoto plan includes live data binding, the design-first editor, scheduled refresh, web publishing, and the same AI quality. Paid tiers add PDF export, every delivery channel, more AI capacity, variants, and governance. This page explains how subscriptions and usage work, and where to manage everything.

The free plan

You can start on the free plan with no credit card. It is built for one person composing their first runnable report, and it includes one report with one page (delete it any time to start fresh), a couple of connected data sources, a daily refresh cadence, web-viewer publishing, and a one-time AI allowance that generates your first report. The exact allowances are listed on thepricing page.

Free reports carry a small “Made with Rahoto” mark. Reader access is free and unlimited. AI answers use the publishing workspace’s capacity; when it runs out, readers still receive a basic report-grounded answer.

Upgrading

Upgrades are self-serve and take effect immediately. Checkout and payment are handled securely by Stripe — Rahoto never stores your card details.

In the app, open Settings → Billing.
Under Current plan, choose the plan you want (for exampleUpgrade to Pro).
You are sent to Stripe Checkout to enter payment details and confirm. When you return, your new plan is active right away.

Only an organization owner or admin can change the plan. If you do not see the upgrade button, ask an owner or admin on your team — the button is shown based on your role on the server, not guessed in the browser.

Workspace subscriptions

Pro and Scale are flat monthly or annual subscriptions for one workspace and all its members. Editing activity and workspace membership never change the charge.

Viewers are different. Anyone who only opens a published report, or asks it a question through reader Q&A, is a free, unlimited reader and does not need a subscription.

Billing continues until the subscriber pauses or cancels. Pausing immediately returns the workspace to Free limits. Existing reports stay saved and readable, but Free plan limits apply until the subscription resumes.

How limits and usage behave

Settings → Billing shows your current plan and aThis month’s usage panel with live meters (your AI capacity and your number of reports, for example) measured against your plan’s caps. On plans with no cap for a given item, the meter simply reads “Unlimited”.

If you need more AI in a given month, an owner or admin can add credit from the same panel to raise that month’s AI cap. Included and top-up capacity reset with each monthly usage period and do not roll over. See AI assistance for what the AI allowance covers.

Limits are designed to be honest and non-destructive. When a paid subscription lapses, your organization moves to the free plan rather than being locked out — you keep read access to your work while you sort out billing.

Data source counts

Managing billing, invoices & cancellation

Everything after your first upgrade lives behind one button.

In Settings → Billing, owners and admins on a paid plan see aManage billing button. It opens the secure Stripe billing portal, where you can:

update your payment method,
view and download past invoices and receipts,
and cancel your subscription.

Upgrades apply immediately; a downgrade or cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, after which your organization moves to the free plan and keeps its reports and data. Cancelling your subscription is separate from closing your account — theClose account flow in Settings is a distinct action.
